About TCCA
The Association was conceived during a dinner at the Three Horseshoes in Madingley and was subsequently launched in 2004. It provides a framework for all current and past members of the Choir, organists and clergy to keep in touch, meet up and make new acquaintances, as well as to keep abreast of the current activities of the Choir. It also comprises a body of people to help and support the interests and the future of the Choir.
The formal principles and aims of the Association are set out in The Constitution. These are:
- to arrange for a Gathering approximately once every three years, comprising a dinner and Evensong;
- to provide news and information to the members of the Association and Friends about the Choir and its activities via a newsletter;
- to endeavour to assist the Choir in achieving its objectives in any way which is deemed appropriate by the Committee in consultation with the Director of Music of the Choir and/or the Dean of Chapel.

A Marriage Made In Chapel - an original article from The Fountain magazine about the formation of the TCCA, written by the Chairman, Nicholas Yates, can be seen here.
Membership
All current and past members of the choir, organ scholars, chaplains and Deans of Chapel are automatically invited to become members of the Association. We do not levy a subscription fee for membership. This distinguishes it from many other similar organisations and is intended to make it as inclusive and accessible as possible.
We also have a category of 'Friends' of the Association which include those people who have had close ties with the Choir (and Chapel) over the years, but who would otherwise not be included. If you, or anyone you know would like to become a Friend, please make an application or nomination via the contacts page.
Please note, there is no charge to become a Friend and we hope as many people as possible who would like to remain in touch with the Choir and its past members will apply or be nominated.
Royal President
We are delighted that HRH The Prince of Wales has agreed to
become President of the Association for an initial period of five years.
The committee is sincerely grateful to His Royal Highness for supporting
the Association in this way and we are confident that it will enhance the
help and support which we give to the current choir. We are also hopeful
that it may, to some extent, increase the profile of choral music in this
country.
It is also hoped that Prince Charles, a bass, who joined the Bach Choir
for a performance of Bach's Mass in B Minor at the Royal Albert Hall in
1985, and whilst an undergraduate at Trinity, between 1967 and 1970, played
the cello in a concert in Chapel, will be able to join the Association in
College at some point during his time as our President.
More commentary on this is included in 2nd edition of the Newsletter

TCCA funding
As mentioned above, we do not levy a subscription fee for members or friends.
We are very grateful to the Chapel and the Chapel Office who shoulder the burden of the day-to-day administration (and expense) of running the Association. All other expenses of the Association are funded via donations and any surplus of income over expenditure flowing from any organised events.
We welcome any financial assistance, whether in the form of donations or offers in kind, to assist with any events or functions. Please do contact us if you can assist in any way.
